9 years ago we were introduced to each other by a friend who told us we were the same person. A few months later we were dating. We have been lucky to love each others family and friends. Shannon has learned to love DnD and video games. Matthew has learned to love hiking and road trips. Together we have settled in LA with our friend group that feel like family, our lil dog Finn the Human, and a closet piled high with board games. We want you at our wedding because we know you and you know us, we love you, and want to spend a day in a very special place celebrating our relationship with each other and the amazing love we are surrounded by.

We went on our first official out in public date to a fraternity party on the Queen Mary where we snuck away and spent the whole time on the roof. We both mark this as the day we became each other's person.

At the end of our first semester as a couple we both realized we had to come up with a reason to stay in LA over the summer so we wouldn't be separated for 3 months. Matthew found an internship and Shannon took summer courses. We spent everyday of that summer together.

We both got accepted to be International Orientation Leaders the year after we met. We had met for the first time at a International Orientation party the year before so it was a full circle experience to get to be leaders together.

After her grandma had surgery in 2017 Shannon went to stay with her for a month. We had just moved in together and it was really hard to be apart for so long so Shannon surprised Matthew by flying to Seattle for his birthday.

We lived with Matthew's family in Palm Springs during the lockdown in 2020 for three months. It was during this time that Shannon realized she was ready to marry Matthew.

The summer of 2020 we traveled home to Minnesota for Shannon's Brother's wedding where we spent a lot of time with Shannon's parents in Wisconsin. We didn't know at the time how important trip would be to us because Shannon's dad would pass less than a month later.

Our first Christmas together.
We went on an incredible trip to South Africa and Botswana with Matthew's family. This trip was a once in a lifetime adventure and we will forever be grateful for the memories we have from it. We saw baby cheetahs, had meerkats stand on our heads, and slept under the stars on a salt flat.

Matthew fully surprised Shannon and Valerie when he asked Shannon to marry him at the end of the road trip around California. Shannon spent the first half of the moment assuming Matthew was messing with her and doing a bit, and the other half blinded by the gorgeous ring he was holding.
